I’ve been using the Leuchtturm1917 for my bullet journaling for the past few months so I thought it was time to do a full, in-depth review! I know there are many journal and supply options for bullet journalers and that makes it hard to decide what to buy. Hopefully this will help you!
5.75 by 8.25 inches
249 numbered, dot grid pages
Slightly cream colored pages (not bright white)
Available in a wide range of solid colors
Pocket in the back
Three ribbon bookmarks
The Leuchtturm1917 journal is pretty affordable and easily available ($20 on Amazon), and has a durable hard cover. I also love that it has a lot of pages!
However, with these upsides, there are some downsides. For one, the pages are a little on the thin side. There is a bit of ghosting with certain pens (see the end of my video for pen tests). There also aren’t many options for decorative covers, although there is definitely a good range of colors.
Overall, I think this journal is great for:
Beginners to bullet journaling
If you like a simple aesthetic
If you like to write a lot/need lots of pages
If you have a low/mid-range budget
I hope this review was helpful for you to decide if this is the right journal for you! If you are new to bullet journaling and don’t know what is important to you in a journal yet, this is a solid option to start with. If you end up hating it, at least it will help you to discover what elements are important for you in a journal!
