Birthday card with recycled design

Is anyone else's summer blowing by like mine is? This has been the busiest season I've had in a long time - between moving two apartments (mine and my boyfriend's), planning my wedding, travel for work coming up, amidst all the usual summer craziness, I haven't had much time to craft (and most of my supplies are still in boxes right now) ... so my advice to you, if you're also really busy this summer, is to recycle a card design that you've already made before and loved! Since you've already done it, you don't have to spend time trying to come up with a new design, but you still get to destress with some fun inks and stamps - which often is exactly what we need when our lives are so busy.

Here is a photo of the card that I recreated based on an old favorite! Ink blending over stencils is one of my favorite things to do because you get an awesome, colorful background and you don't have to think too much about it - it will almost ALWAYS come out beautiful! The stencil I used today is from an older My Monthly Hero kit, and I also used a bunch of mini ink pads from previous kits - which shows that this works with dye inks too (not just Distress Inks), if you use a light hand!

The card was really easy to finish off by layering a vellum heart and a heat embossed birthday sentiment for this month's Birthday challenge.

Hope you enjoyed this recreated card, and thanks for stopping by today!
