Watercolor Butterflies Tutorial + GIVEAWAY!

I posted about a month back that I ordered a set of butterfly stamps from Amazon and... they sent me three! So, I'll be sharing the extra two with two lovely readers... read on to find out how to enter.

I played a lot with this set, making several cards - all using watercolor, so that's what I'll be sharing today. I have a video to show you how! [Click here to watch on YouTube]

I really love how watercolor looks with these stamps - and it is really simple to do (although you might need to practice a few times to get the results you like.

I especially love when it drips - it looks so "artsy" lol ;) For this card, I made the drips completely go over the sentiment, but the words still show through since watercolor is pretty translucent, so it works great!

I used a very basic $5 set of watercolors - if you have a fancier set, go for it! But I wanted to show that you can get good results even with very basic supplies! :)

For another card, I made the watercolor background more subtle and let it drip and pool around the sentiment instead of on top, which also came out well.

And for this one, I kept it more simple with just one butterfly.

To create a softer effect, you can also stamp the butterflies in Versamark, heat emboss in white, and then watercolor over all of that - which is what I did for the card below.

As you can see, there are so many options and ways to use this stamp set - I really love it!
