Giveaway Winners + Mother's Day Card Inspiration

Thanks to everyone who entered last week's butterfly stamp giveaways! I really enjoyed reading all of your favorite ways to use watercolor and it even inspired me to try all the techniques you mentioned on future cards! You all ROCK :)

So, here are the winners of the giveaway!

Congratulations! Please send your mailing address to michellekristyyuen(at)gmail(dot)com and I'll send those out to you ASAP! (I'm leaving for vacation in 2 days, so I'll ship them out before then if I get your email in time!)

So, PSA: Mother's Day is less than a week away (May 10 to be exact)!! So today, I have a bunch of cards to show you today, just in case you need some inspiration to make something for your mom!

And just in case you're wondering... I only have one mom lol but I make so many cards because I put them up for sale on my Etsy (which is also an option if you don't have time to make a card yourself haha).

So, here we go! This first card was one I showed in a recent post with the butterfly stamps in the giveaway. It's fun, bright and colorful. If you haven't seen the video tutorial I showed in that post, go ahead and check it out!

The second card also uses the same butterflies, but the look is much different and softer because the butterflies are heat embossed in white. Again, I used watercolor for a really freeform look.

For the next card, I decided to do something different and try some hand stitching to add a really unique, handmade quality. I've shared tutorials in the past on how to create stitched elements (this post shows it on a scrapbook layout).

For a pretty floral card that is a bit more graphic, I love using layering stamps. For the card below, I used the Fresh Cut Florals set from W Plus 9. Stamping those flowers takes a bit of time, but it is so worth it!

For something a bit different and very dimensional, maybe you could try your hand at paper quilling - this technique is an artform in its own! Paper quilling requires a few tools you might not have, but it's definitely something to consider if you want to try something new in paper crafting and cardmaking :)

So there you have it! Just a few examples of Mother's Day cards - I hope it got you inspired, or hopefully it was a gentle reminder just in case the holiday had slipped your mind... I won't tell ;)
