This month, I've had the honor and pleasure of being Clique Kit's Student of the Month (guest designer). I worked with the fabulous kit, A Midsummer Night's Dream, which really was jam packed with beautiful supplies, including some awesome exclusives that I really loved! Here's a peek at all the goodness:
Now on to the projects! I loved the kit so much that I really challenged myself to make as many projects as I could before I ran out of supplies - and I ended up with four layouts AND two cards - and I mostly just ran out of paper but still have a ton of embellishments for future projects!! Talk about a great value!
The thing that I was first drawn to when I received my kit was the suuuuper skinny gold striped washi tape. I instantly knew that I wanted to create a grid layout using the washi as pretty line dividers.
This layout was so fun to make because you get to embellish each little box with the pretty supplies - the cut apart papers were perfect for this, as were the flair badges and little die cuts and stickers. There are really so many different combinations you could make with the supplies!
For the title, the alphas (as much as I wanted to use them, because they are gorgeous) were a bit hard to see on the teal paper, so I simply traced them with a black pen and went for a more freeform, casual look.
For this next layout, I had a lot of fun playing with hidden journaling using the packaging that came with the kit - yup, those glassine bags that are used to hold your little goodies? They are not only perfect for layering, but also for their functionality!
At the bottom, I stuffed some of the fun buttons and flowers, which you can still see through, and then I used a journaling card attached to some patterned paper for my hidden journaling.
I also included an additional photo that I didn't want displayed (this layout is about me getting my drivers license, so I included a picture of the license on the back, which has personal information!) on the back of the journaling card. Pretty AND functional!
For the next two layouts, I simply played with the supplies and layered embellishments and papers :)
Finally, after these four layouts, I was almost running out of paper. But, to stretch the supplies more, I decided to make some cards with what I had left! The "Thank you" sticker on the sticker sheet made this card SO easy - I simply layered some scrap papers with the sticker tags and added some cute wood veneer sequins and called it done!
And for my last card, I used a similar process, patching scrap papers together, but I also used the numbers that came in the Pinkfresh Studio alphas to create a kind of collage effect on the right hand side. I think it really goes with the theme of "every day" for an any occasion card.
So that wraps up my projects using Clique Kit's July kit! THANK YOU to the lovely Clique Kits girls for having me this month! It's been so great to connect with them (seriously, they are fabulous ladies!) and I look forward to working with you all in the future again!!
Readers, if you're looking into a scrapbooking kit club (which might be more likely now, because of the sad closing of Two Peas In A Bucket) please do check out Clique Kits. The kits are fabulous and you will be well taken care of by the Clique Kits ladies.
That's all I have for you today, but I'll see you soon! Have a great week everyone :)
